    To meet the needs of boys, young men and young fathers, who are considered at risk of social exclusion and to enable them through the provision of effective support, to realize their fullest potential.

    A boy, a male and a man are not the same.They depict stages of development. A male is a biological term. A boy is in a state of transition. Finally, a man is defined as someone who has a purpose and a greater sense of responsibility.

    The challenges of today, especially those that confront our children, require a special commitment of us all. People of all ages and from all walks of life must claim society’s problems as their own, pulling together, leading by example, and lifting American lives.

  • Our Aims & Objectives

    Black Boys of Distinction exists to challenge the negative stereotypes of men and mascupnity and provides positive and nurturing opportunities for men to broaden their self perception and redefine themselves.


    Black Boys of Distinction aims to enable males to be better equipped to cope with pfe at all stages of change and transition (childhood, adolescence, adulthood and fatherhood) without resorting to negative behaviors such as the harm of self or others.


    Black Boys of Distinction seeks to provide boys with mentors/role models who will positively guide and influence them to higher standards of behavior, self esteem, and relationships with women and social responsibipty.


    Black Boys of Distinction is committed to increasing the positive involvement of fathers in the pves of their children.


    Black Boys of Distinction recruits, trains and supports Mentors and Volunteers.


    Black Boys of Distinction is dedicated to improving the outcomes in all aspects of men’s health and emotional well-being.


  • Emphasis of Focus is to:

    • Increase high school graduation rates
    • Decrease criminal arrest
    • Decrease number of teenage boys fathering babies
    • Increase involvement of parents and caregivers
    • Increase college enrollment
    • Increase in marital commitment among men
    • Increase in employability

Enroll a Child

BBOD is accepting applications to enroll young boys from the ages of 9 to 15. If you have a child that you wish to enroll please download the Student Enrollment Application below as well as the Parent Commitment Form. In BBOD, we expect parents to participate and be active in the program to help ensure the success of the boys.
